Shirley L. Bursing, 83, died peacefully on Feb. 9, 2026, at her home in Sevierville, Tennessee, where she had resided since 2017.
She was born Nov. 13, 1942, to Clarence and Marietta Olson. She was raised and attended school in Brookings, . Shirley married Bradley Bursing on Nov. 25, 1960, and they had two daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Teri Harming of Boise, ID, and Lori (Jack) Dittmer of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter Kristina (Daniel) Martinez of Meridian, ID; son-in-law Kevin Harming of Boise, ID, and three great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Sophia, and Toby. She is also survived by her siblings, Ardell Olson, Robert Olson, and Linda Eberlein, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Marcene Wicks.
Shirley’s request for a simple obituary and service are being honored.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
