Bobcat soccer teams swept in Tea

TEA The Brookings soccer teams each fell to Tea Area on Tuesday night.

The Bobcat boys lost 2-1 and the girls lost 3-2. The Brookings boys are now 1-1-1 and the girls are 0-2-1. Each team will play against OGorman on Thursday night. The boys game will start at 4 p.m. and the girls game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Boys

Tea Area 2, Brookings 1

Brookings lone goal came in the 65th minute and Forrest Giard scored. He was assisted by Keller Peterson.

Giard had four shots and three of them were on goal. Connor Shelden had two shots and both of them were on goal and Griffin Bachman had one shot that was on goal. Peterson, Kyler Soost and Jasper Lee each had one shot.

Sawyer Steen was in net for the Cats and had six saves.

Girls

Tea Area 3, Brookings 2

Tea scored the first three goals and Brookings had a late push but the Bobcats comeback came up short.

The Titans broke a 0-0 tie one minute and 10 seconds into the second half. They then pushed the lead to 2-0 later in the half and extended the lead to 3-0 with 10:28 to play in the game.

Brookings got on the board with a goal from Josie Hegerfeld with just under four minutes to play. Aubrey Knutzen then made it 3-2 with 40 seconds left but Brookings was unable to score again and suffered the loss.

Knutzen and Hegerfeld each had one shot that was on goal. Grace Romsa and Aubrey Giard had three shots on goal and Rylee Briggs had two shots on goal. Sofia Schmit had two shots and one was on goal and Isabel Eide and Paisley Te Velde each had one shot.
