Dawn Miller, age 63, of Brookings, South Dakota, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Ava’s Hospice House on April 23, 2026.
She was born on April 25, 1962, in Brookings. She was confirmed at Baltic Lutheran Church and a 1980 graduate of Baltic High School. Dawn worked at Larson Manufacturing until her health began to decline. Dawn was a devoted member of the Lutheran faith. She loved diamond painting, crafts, spending time with family, time in the sunshine, home renovation, and decoration. She was well know for her frosted sugar cookies.
Her kindness and compassion for others was unparalleled. Dawn cared deeply for every person she met.
Dawn is survived by her children Melissa Barron (McClain Barron) and Justin Heard; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Lain; siblings, Larry Miller and Sherry Hanson; aunt Nancy Barton. She was precede in death by her parents Orill and Bonnie Johnson & William and Beulah Miller and her grandparents.
Family directed funeral service will occur at the Baltic Lutheran Church in Baltic, SD on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 4 p.m. followed by visitation from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
