Olsen comes in second, Dolphin girls finish in fourth at state meet

HURON Deubrook Areas Nora Olsen came in second place in the Class B State Cross Country Meet and led a group of area runners on Saturday morning at Broadland Creek Golf Course.

Girls

There were two area schools that qualified for State as a team. Deubrook Area finished in fourth with 30 points and Arlington came in 11th (113).

Olsen led the Dolphins as she came in second with a time of 19:12.30. Kylee Johnson came in ninth (19:58.29) for Deubrook and Kaylee Brown came in 28th (20:56.98). Emma Knutson came in 58th (22:35.62) and Everly Blum finished in 79th (23:09.79).

Kaelyn Ulschmid was the top finisher for Arlington and she came in 13th (20:13.62). Seely VanOverbeke came in 71st (22:48.85). Rachel Steffsen came in 91st (23:34.27) and Kennedi VanOverbeke came in 98th (23:58.61). Dystiny Loss finished in 108th (25.53.34).

Colman-Egan was the other school with a runner and it was Isabelle Lee. She finished in 52nd (22:11.19).

Boys

There were five area runners in Class B on the boys side from four different schools. Iroquois/Lake Prestons Case Carlson came in 36th (18:35.63) and Arlingtons Karsten Lerwick came in 38th (18:41.56). Estelline/Hendricks Cade Hexem came in 47th (18:53.54). Deubrook Area had two runners as Isaiah Skogen finished in 77th (19:35.67) and Jameson Pearson came in 81st (19:39.77).

Philip won the team title with 12 points. Mitchell Christians Silas Holdeman won the individual race with a time of 16:16.94.
