GARRETSON Sioux Valley, Colman-Egan Elkton-Lake Benton, Flandreau and Oldham-Ramona-Rutland all opened the spring golf season with the Garretson Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cossacks only had the girls team in action on Tuesday and they had eight golfers in the nine-hole tournament. Masey Top and Taylor Bastian led Sioux Valley, tying for ninth with a score of 51 each. Riley Stirling tied for 23rd (57) and Keyra Kruse tied for 29th (60). Abygale Degen and Allie Hofer each tied for 33rd (63). Sunny Hesby tied for 38th (68) and Kaedyn Sapp came in 44th (74).
Colman-Egan had three girls golfers. Savanna Schmidt tied for ninth as well (51). Mauryn Landis tied for 14th (52) and Aspen Clark tied for 29th (60).
Malyha Slegers was the lone golfer for ELB on the girls side and she tied 14th (52). Flandreau had one girl in Julianna Gaspar and she came in 28th (59).
Colman-Egan had three boys golfers. Taylor Kriech was the top Hawks golfer as he tied for third with a score of 37. Jack Whitehouse tied for 20th (44) and Holdyn Rentschler tied for 61st (58).
Oldham-Ramona-Rutland had seven boys golfers. Brodie Albertson led the Raiders, tying for 37th (48). Wyatt Trygstad and Easton Ruml tied for 54th (55) and Hyde Hanson tied for 57th (56). Rylen Olson tied for 61st (58) and Brooks Leighton tied for 67th (63). Brock Eppe rounded things out for ORR, coming in 69th (67).
ELB had seven boys golfers as well. Tanner Drietz was the top finisher for the Elks, tying for 11th (42). Eric Wiskur tied for 14th (43) and Lane Schindler tied for 20th (44). Jack Stein tied for 30th (47) and Eliot Erickson tied for 41st (49). Colt Beck tied for 48th (54) and Nate Timm tied for 59th (57).
Alfie Henderson was the top finisher for the Flandreau boys and he tied for third (37). Jon Burshiem tied for 20th (44) and Hunter Bushkofsky tied for 41st (49).
