I read that a county commissioner objected to the use of BATA to give rides to people who maybe partied a little too much.
The reason was that they could not provide a competitive service that could be provided by a private taxi service. In other words, government should not interfere with private business.
Funny, from a city that owns the only liquor store and prevents private enterprise from doing the same thing.
The city is also in the media business, in competition to others offering the same service.
It also seems strange the city promotes No Mow May so neighborhoods are populated with millions of yellow flowers, yet it mows all city parks and city property. Sometimes, you just have to shake your head and ask, What did they say?
