Friday, Sept. 9

12:36 p.m. Officer Schneider observed a fight happening in the hallway of the Brookings High School. A report was generated.

4:09 p.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Fifth Avenue and Third Street.

8:14 p.m. Sgt. Weinrich took a report of a runaway juvenile. A state case was filed.

9:44 p.m. Sgt. Weinrich received a report of a male party causing issues with multiple people. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass after notice.

Saturday, Sept. 10

1:39 a.m. Sgt. Weinrich witnessed a fight in progress in the 300 block of Main Avenue. An investigation is pending.

2:12 a.m. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the 800 block of 14th Avenue in Brookings. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver for DUI-first offense, possession of a fictitious driver’s license, and driving without headlights.

11:45 a.m. The Brookings Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 12th Street South and Christine Avenue. A report was completed.

1:20 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver was cited and released.

7:06 p.m. Brookings Police took a fraud report from the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue. A report was filed.

9:31 p.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop near 22nd Avenue and Olwien Street. An investigation was conducted, and the driver was arrested for DUI.

Sunday, Sept. 11

1:02 a.m. Brookings Police conducted a traffic stop near Sixth Street and 22nd Avenue. An investigation was conducted, and a female was arrested for possession of a fictitious license; zero tolerance DUI/consume alcohol or any drug while under 21; and underage purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages.

3:08 a.m. Law enforcement took a report of an assault.

1:13 p.m. Officers responded to the 2300 block of Nicole Lane for a complaint of a hit-and-run. A report was generated.

1:16 p.m. Brookings Police stopped a suspended driver. Drug items were located inside the vehicle.
