Wednesday, April 17

  • 12:59 a.m. Officers investigated a stop arm violation.
  • 12:17 p.m. Officers took a report of an assault.

Thursday, April 18

  • 5:10 a.m. Officer’s took a report involving a male juvenile allegedly consuming alcohol.
  • 2:12 p.m. Officers took a report of an underage tobacco violation.
  • 3:22 p.m. BPD Officers responded to a report of a non-injury accident.
  • 4:42 p.m. Brookings police generated a report in regard to theft.

Friday, April 19

  • 6:28 a.m. The Brookings Police Department received a traffic complaint violation for unlawfully passing a school bus with flashing lights. The violation, occurred in the 500 Block of Seventh Avenue South on the morning of April 5, at approximately 7:55 a.m.
  • 5:34 p.m. Police took a complaint about a dog running at large.
  • 5:59 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle, non-injury accident.

Saturday, April 20

  • 2:25 a.m. Law enforcement arrested one male driver for DUI.
  • 7:03 a.m. The Brookings Police Department was dispatched to an ambulance call.
  • 5:33 p.m. Officers took a harassment report.
  • 7:52 p.m. Law enforcement took a report of an assault.
  • 8:49 p.m. Officers responded to a report of fictitious licenses.

Sunday, April 21

  • 12:06 a.m. Law enforcement took a report of a weapon law violation.
  • 1:04 a.m. Brookings police officers responded to a report of a disorderly person. The investigation is on going.
  • 9:15 a.m. Officers assisted the sheriff’s office with a vehicle accident.
  • 10:14 a.m. An officer responded to a two-vehicle accident where a state accident report was taken.
  • 11:30 a.m. Officers investigated a report of an assault that had occurred.

Monday, April 22

  • 3:04 p.m. BPD officers took a report for theft.
  • 3:21 p.m. The Brookings Police Department assisted another agency on a welfare check.
  • 4:49 p.m. BPD Officers responded to a call related to mental health.
  • 8:07 p.m. A burglary to a residence was reported. The suspects were identified as juveniles.
  • 8:13 p.m. Brookings Police documented a civil matter.
  • 10:50 p.m. A report was made of damage to property. The victim reported that someone damaged their screen door, possibly attempting to enter their residence. Nothing else damage or missing.
  • 11:13 p.m. Brookings police took a report of simple assault.

Tuesday, April 23

  • 7:55 a.m. Parking violation.
  • 9:58 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of items stolen from a motor vehicle.
  • 10:40 a.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of a non-injury motor vehicle crash.
  • 11:02 a.m. Criminal Investigative Division was assigned a background investigation.
  • 12:10 p.m. BPD officers responded to a report for a weapons violation.
  • 3:15 p.m. An informational report was generated.

  • 5:19 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report of an assault.
  • 6:59 p.m. Officers took a report.

Wednesday, April 24

  • 11:10 a.m. Brookings police were provided a referral that was taken by Social Services.
  • 12:41 p.m. The Brookings Police Department took a report involving reported child abuse. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
  • 2:06 p.m. Officers were called to Brookings High School for a tobacco violation.
  • 4:59 p.m. Officers took a report about an assault that occurred. Th investigation is currently ongoing.
  • 6:21 p.m. Brookings police officers responded to a mental health incident. One individual was transported to the ER.
  • 8:03 p.m. Brookings police received a traffic complaint. The incident remains under investigation.
