BROOKINGS – The Brookings wrestling teams were each defeated by Aberdeen Central on Thursday night in the Brookings Auxiliary Gym.
The Bobcat boys fell 46-24 and the Brookings girls lost 54-14. Both teams will compete in the Yankton Invite this weekend. The girls will wrestle on Friday night starting at 4 p.m. and the boys will compete on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.

BOYS
Aberdeen Central 46, Brookings 24
There was only one forfeit on the boys’ side and it was Aberdeen Central’s Mason Backous who won in the 126-pound weight class.
Aberdeen Central won the first match of the night as Esten Foss pinned Tristan Baxter in 1:12 at 120. Haiden Baxter got Brookings on the board with a 12-8 decision over Logan Heier at 132. Micah Stern won a 2-0 decision for the Bobcats at 138 over Will Allen.
The Golden Eagles won the next three matches with pins. Jude Summer pinned Jacob Milliron in 4:22 at 144 and Porter Lozenski pinned Ty Delbridge in 3:15 at 150. Luke VanVlymen was pinned by Ridley Waldo in 1:49 at 157.

The Bobcats won at 165 as Mason Mathis won a tight 4-3 decision over Kaylor Swenson. However, Aberdeen Central came out on top in the two matches after that. Grayden Timm pinned James Fitzpatrick in 3:06 at 175 and Owen Ward won a 15-6 major decision over Blake Kannegieter at 190.
Brookings won the next three matches. Zach Hagemann pinned Hunter Herceg in 1:24 at 215 and Jackson Neff pinned Max Borns in 3:03 at heavyweight. Josh Deming won a 6-4 decision over Henry Gillen at 106. In the final match of the night, Aberdeen Central’s Paxton Ewing pinned Bode TeKrony in 3:27.
GIRLS
Aberdeen Central 54, Brookings 14
Brookings won three of the six matches that were played. Bailey TeKrony won a 2-1 sudden victory over Madison Little in the 110-pound weight class. Kami Erickson won a 9-0 major decision over Jayda Hoffman at 125. Ramsie Hinricher pinned Imani Pippens in 3:47 at 130.

Lily Toft was pinned by Jasmine Mass in 5:08 at 115. Lin Paw Jone pinned Madison Ballis in 2:13 at 155 and Aston Otteson was pinned by Meleane Mounga in 2:42 at 190.
Paisley Stewart, Avyn Waldo, Mila Hobbs, Rakyrah Wallace, Allison Neitzel and Lilly Nelson all won via forfeit for Aberdeen Central. There was double forfeit at 105 and 235.
