RAPID CITY The Brookings boys golf team is tied for sixth after the first day of the Class AA State Tournament Meadowbrook Golf Course on Monday in Rapid City.
The Bobcats had a team score of 319 after the first day and are tied with Mitchell. Harrisburg is in first place after shooting 295. OGorman is in second (299) and Sioux Falls Lincoln is in third (307). Brandon Valley is in fourth (310) and Yankton is in fifth (311).
Tyson Lunn led the way for the Cats on day one. He is tied for 10th after shooting a 76. Andrew Heinze is tied for 24th (79) and Jack Baszler and Issak Earley are both tied for 42nd (82). Rhys Heiberger is tied for 61st (84) and Jase Bauer is tied for 73rd (86).
OGormans Taten Mauney is in first place after shooting a four-under 68. Harrisburgs Gavin Weir is in second after shooting an even par 72. Harrisburgs Charlie Swift is in third (74) and Sioux Falls Lincolns Max Krenik is in fourth (74).
The tournament will conclude with the second round on Tuesday.
