HERMOSA A 77-year-old Hamilton, Illinois, man died in a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Monday afternoon 6 miles west of Hermosa.
The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2020 Harley Davidson CVO was traveling westbound on state Highway 36 near mile marker 39. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and entered the north ditch, struck a driveway approach, and rolled.
The driver became separated from his motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
