BROOKINGS COUNTY A Flandreau woman is in a hospital after her vehicle struck the side of a bridge on Sunday southeast of Brookings, according to the Brookings County Sheriffs Office.
The crash sent Rebecca Weston, 41, to Brookings Health System with unknown injuries, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring wrote in a Monday news release. He confirmed that she was wearing a seat belt. The incident occurred at 5:16 a.m. on state Highway 324 near 473rd Avenue,
After striking the bridge, her vehicle a 1999 Honda CR-V entered the ditch and rolled. Weston was treated by the Brookings Ambulance and taken to the hospital in Brookings, Sebring wrote, adding that her vehicle sustained extensive damage during the collision and was disabled.
The sheriffs office is continuing to investigate the incident, Sebring said.
