Brookings Health System board has new members

BROOKINGS Jennifer Barlund, David Jones and Dr. Shelby Eischens were recently appointed to Brookings Health Systems board of trustees.

Barlund fills a city-appointed trustee position that runs through December 2027. She currently serves as the president of Falcon Plastics, a family-owned plastics molding manufacturer based in Brookings. She attended South Dakota State University and holds a bachelors degree in entrepreneurship. Her community service also includes volunteering on the Boys & Girls Club Advisory Board.

Jones fills a county-appointed trustee position that runs through December 2027. A lifelong Brookings resident, Jones is the president and co-owner of Access Entertainment Group. He formerly served as a vice president at BankStar Financial.

Eischens fills the active medical staff trustee position that runs through December 2027. She has practiced at Avera Medical Group Brookings as a family medicine provider since 2010.

She served as Brookings Health Systems chief of medical staff from 2016 to 2019.

In the community she actively volunteers for the Brookings Marathon and Brookings School District.

Brookings Health Systems board of trustees are responsible for the overall governance associated with all aspects of Brookings Health System programs, services and related organizational, operational and financial activities.
