Brookings Public Library hosting Day of the Dead talk on Nov. 4

On Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m., the Brookings Public Library will host a talk on the holiday Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead.

Christine Garst-Santos, SDSU associate professor of Spanish and director of the School of American and Global Studies, will discuss the background and cultural significance of Dia de los Muertos. Attendees will also have a chance to view the librarys Community Ofrenda, an altar made to honor deceased loved ones put together by Brookings residents, before and after the talk.
