BROOKINGS Colman-Egans Taylor Kriech is tied for fourth place after one round in the Class B Boys State Golf Tournament at Brookings Country Club on Monday.
Kriech shot a four-over 76 on day one. Wessington Springs Blake Larson is in first place after shooting a 74. Millers Derek Brueggeman and Sully Buttes Gavin Colson are tied for second (75). Kriech is tied with Drake Mueller of Faulkton Area.
There were four other area golfers in Deubrook Areas Gavin Landmark, Elkton-Lake Bentons Tanner Drietz, Arlingtons Spencer Heflin and Estelline/Hendricks Cade Hexum.
Landmark is tied for 12th after shooting an 80 in round one. Drietz is tied for 31st (83) and Heflin is tied for 107th (95). Hexum is tied for 123rd (102).
Wessington Springs leads the team championship after shooting a total of 237 in round one. Hanson and Hamlin are tied for second (246). Chester is in fourth (247) and Clark/Willow Lake rounds out the top five (248).
Kriech will tee off at 10:30 a.m. for the second round on Tuesday. Landmark will tee off at 10:10 and Drietz will tee off at 9:10. Heflin tees off at 9:30 a.m. and Hexum tees off at 10:00.
