Legislative coffees set for Jan. 27, Feb. 17 in Brookings

BROOKINGS The Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce will hold two Legislative Coffee events during the 2024 legislative session, both sponsored by Brookings Economic DevelopmentCorp. and Kool Beans Coffee.

The events allow area residents an to become better informed about the 2023 legislative session and our legislators positions on current issues and bills.

The events will be Jan. 27 and Feb. 17 starting at 9:30 a.m. at the City-County Government Center, 530 Third St., in the third-floor chambers.

Chamber president Kelsey Doom said in a statement: This is one of the most important services the Chamber of Commerce provides to our Brookings County communities. This gives constituents a direct line to their representatives, as well as a voice in what is happening at the state capital.

District 7 legislatorsare Republicans Rep. Mellissa Heermann, Rep. Roger DeGroot and Sen. Tim Reed. District 8 legislatorsare RepublicansSenate Majority Leader Sen. Casey Crabtree, Rep. Tim Reisch and Rep. John Mills.
