Anne Hovey, age 53 of Bruce, passed away at home under hospice care.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Grace Free Lutheran Church in Bruce, SD. Anne was born on Dec. 4, 1970, to Doris (Grieme) Saathoff in Brookings, SD, and was later adopted by Terry Denker. Anne graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1989 and later received her Associates Degree. She was employed at the Brookings County Treasurers Office, Daktronics, and Bel Brands.
Anne married the love of her life, Rolf Hovey on June 30, 2001. This union was blessed with a daughter, Abigail on March 12, 2003. Anne was also blessed with a son, Kyle Denker on April 28, 1990. Kyle was later adopted by Rolf.
Survivors include her husband, Rolf; daughter, Abigail; step-son, Luke Hovey; step-daughter, Chantelle Hovey, grandchildren: Violet and Allison, Tavius, Ryker, Ayden, Sklyer, Jakari, Chase, Jeremiah, and Jace; brother, Michael Denker; sisters-in-law, Janet (Dave) Johnson, Louise (Mike) Zuiderhof, Mary (Russ) Bjerke; brother-in-law, Don (Shelley) Hovey; aunts, Norma Halvorson, Necia Benz, Pat Polly; uncles, Bill Grieme, and Roger (Pat) Saathoff; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Kyle Hovey; mom, Doris (Grieme) McWilliams; step-dad, Robert McWilliams; her in-laws, Rolf and Elsie Hovey; her grandparents; and her brother-in-law, James Hovey.
