2025 All-Register Girls Basketball Team announced

Seven area players have been named to the 2025 girls basketball All-Register Team and they come from four different teams.

Jaelyn Huntimer of Arlington, the Register Player of the Year, highlights the team. Kailey Cradduck, Keyra Kruse and Tayla Vincent represent Sioux Valley on the team. Brynlee Landis of Colman-Egan, Morgan Sheppard of Flandreau and Mataya Gouws of Deubrook Area round out the team.

Jaelyn Huntimer | Junior | Arlington

Huntimer was a First Team Class B All-State selection as she set the Arlington single-season points record with 514 total points. She averaged 23.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and three assists per game this season and surpassed 1,000-career points. The highlight of the season was a 37 point outing.

A full story on Huntimer will run later in the Register this week.

Kailey Cradduck | Sophomore | Sioux Valley

Cradduck had a stellar sophomore season for the Cossacks. She averaged 14 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Cradduck was a Third Team Class A All-State selection and was named to the All-State Tournament Team this season. She was also a First Team All-Big East conference and Lake Central All-Conference selection.

Kailey is one the most talented players to come out of Sioux Valley, said Sioux Valley head coach Jamie Granum. Her length and versatility make her a handful to guard. She can score at all 3 levels. Her ability to be crafty around the rim, get offensive rebounds and her passing ability is what makes her special.

Keyra Kruse | Senior | Sioux Valley

Kruse closed out her Sioux Valley career strong. She averaged 12.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and shot 58.8% from the field. For her career she had 806 points, 701 rebounds, 96 blocks and 197 assists. Kruse was a Third Team Class A All-State selection and was selected to the All-State Tournament Team. She was also First Team All-Big East Conference and a Lake Central All-Conference selection.

Keyra is one of the most improved players in the state, Granum said. Her career from the post position is remarkable, especially surrounded by as many good guards as she has been in her career. That impacted her career numbers. She impacted the game on both ends of the floor, her rebounding ability outside of her area is at an elite level. She is one of the main reasons we were a state tournament team this past year. She finished her last three career games in Spearfish with double doubles.

Talya Vincent | Junior | Sioux Valley

Vincent put together a strong season for Sioux Valley at the point guard position. She averaged 13.4 points and three assists per game. She made 100 3-pointers this season, which is fifth all time. Vincent was a Class A All-State Honorable Mention. She was a Lake Central Conference All-Conference selection and was on the Big East All-Conference Second Team.

Talya is the top catch and shoot shooter in the state, Granum said. Her range really extended defenses and caused a lot of 1v1 matchups for her teammates. She was good in transition, where teams lost her some and she spotted up. Scoring well from the point guard position is not easy, she makes great decisions with the ball in her hands and having a point guard that rarely turns it over is key to being able to make a deep run in the postseason.

Brynlee Landis | Junior | Colman-Egan

Landis was a Second Team Class B All-State selection for the Hawks. She averaged 20 points and six rebounds per game and had 52 steals on the season. She was also the Most Valuable Player in the Dakota Valley Conference.

Morgan Sheppard | Freshman | Flandreau

Sheppard picked up where her sister Claire, who is now at South Dakota State, left off as she had an eye-opening freshman season for the Fliers. She averaged 15.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Sheppard was a Class A All-State Honorable Mention and was a First Team All-Big East Conference selection. She was also a Lake Central All-Conference selection.

Morgans role changed significantly from her last two years of varsity experience, said Flandreau head coach Megan Severtson. This year, she was called on to handle the ball and score more. She grew as a leader and playmaker throughout the season. I am optimistic that she will continue to improve. Her height and athleticism set her apart from most high school athletes.

Mataya Gouws | Junior | Deubrook Area

Gouws helped lead the Dolphins to their first state tournament appearance in school history this season. She averaged 14 points, six rebounds and two steals per game, while shooting 63% from the field.
