Jackrabbits in fourth after round two of Summit Championships

MAYETTA, Kan. — South Dakota State women’s golf team is in fourth place at the Summit League Championships following a windy 18 holes Monday at Firekeeper Golf Course.

The Jacks are within one shot of third place with a 615 (+39) two-round score. Denver (-1), Oral Roberts (+20) and St. Thomas (+38) are ahead of SDSU in the standings.

Alex Kandolin is tied for 10th place to pace the Jackrabbits. She is +7 over 36 holes and eight strokes off the top of the leaderboard. Kandolin was 1-over on the front nine Monday, then +6 on the back half.

McKenzie Mages is alone in 12th place with a +8 scorecard. She tallied an eagle on hole four but was 7-over on the day. Piper Stubbs is tied for 15th (+10), Reese Jansa is tied for 31st (+16) and Shakira-Ann Kuys is tied for 34th place (+18).

Oral Roberts’ Avery Blake and Denver’s Emma Bryant and Anna Zanusso are in a three-way tie for the lead. Denver has all five of its players in the top seven.

The final round of the Summit League Championships will be played Tuesday. The Jackrabbits are set to tee off starting at 8:50 a.m.
