The Brookings Figure Skating Club recently helped with the VFW Auxiliary No. 2118 Third Sunday Breakfast.
Because of excellent publicity and one-on-one notifications, the attendance at the breakfast was the best attended this year. The payoff for the skating club was a check for $1,275. This money can be used for travel, equipment, programs, costumes and other necessities.
The VFW Auxiliary members say they are proud to have this opportunity for local nonprofit organizations. This month will be the last of the Third Sunday Breakfast until August. This month the profits from the breakfast will be going to the host organization. The profits will be used for local and military based programs that are supported by the local auxiliary.
The breakfast will be 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 26 at the VFW Post Home at 520 Main Ave. The breakfast will have pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausages, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee available.
