Medary Creek Beavers discuss Youth Livestock Literacy, more

The Medary Creek Beavers held their monthly meeting in Elkton at the Community Center on April 14.

Maddisyn called the meeting to order, Jaden led the flag pledge, and Emma led the 4-H pledge. The roll call was, “What is your favorite cartoon?”

• Old business discussed: Members need to re-enroll in 4-H online by May 1, Agri Tech hosted a Youth Literacy Training on April 6.

• New business discussed: Aluminum can donation bin is located in the Runnings parking lot; Youth Livestock Literacy (YLL) must be completed before July 1; YQCA – Youth for the Quality Care of Animals can be completed online or there will be-in person events scheduled later; Monday April 22 – 4-H Horse Training Brookings at 6:30 p.m. at Too Shay Tack Arena; State Fair books are out, if you would like a printed copy please contact the office.

4-H camp dates have been set; registration is now open, so sign up to get your spot. Remember to try to think of some demonstrations to do throughout the year (if you have been in a project for three years you must do a demonstration to get your three-year pin award).

• Community service and 4-H promotion: Tie blankets and bird houses.

The ext meeting will be May 5.
