A career day from Lani Potter and top-15 finishes by all five players lifted the SDSU women’s golf team to first place at the Jackrabbit Intercollegiate Tuesday.
The Jackrabbits finished atop the 10-team field with an 895 total score (+31) and had a 10-stroke advantage on second-place North Dakota State.
Potter was the event runner-up at +5 (78-72-71). She carded a 71 (-1) in the final round at Brookings Country Club, a career-best total and career-best score to par. The senior was the only player to finish the third round under par.
Shakira-Ann Kuys was one spot behind Potter, finishing tied for third with a +8 score in her Jackrabbit debut. Kuys led all players with nine birdies over the 54 holes.
Mia Seeman ended the event +10 and in a tie for seventh place. Alex Kandolin was +13 and finished tied for 10th and Hester Sicking was +14 and tied for 14th place.
Piper Stubbs and Tatum Depuydt golfed individually for SDSU. Stubbs tied with Sicking for 14th place and Depuydt finished tied for 16th out of 63 players.

The Jackrabbits will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. next week for the Mercedes Benz Women’s Collegiate Championship hosted by Tennessee. Play will start Monday, Sept. 20 and will wrap up Tuesday, Sept. 21.
