ST. LOUIS – For the second time this season, South Dakota State All-America center Jacob Ohnesorge has been honored as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week.
A senior from Waunakee, Wis., Ohnesorge graded at 97 percent with 12 knockdown blocks in South Dakota State's 49-14 victory over Southern Illinois on Oct. 7. He did not allow a sack or a hit on the quarterback in a penalty-free game.
Ohnesorge anchored a Jackrabbit offensive unit that racked up 584 yards of total offense, including a season-high 368 rushing yards. The Jackrabbits converted 11-of-15 third-down attempts and scored touchdowns on all five of their first-half offensive possessions.
A four-year starter, Ohnesorge also received the weekly offensive lineman award for his efforts against Drake on Sept. 16.
The seventh-ranked face Northern Iowa in the 104th Hobo Day game Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
