BROOKINGS – Undisputed.

O’Gorman capped an undefeated season Saturday night at the Swiftel Center, beating Huron 25-15, 25-17, 20-25, 25-18 in the Class AA State Volleyball Tournament final.

The No. 1 Lady Knights finished the year with a 26-0 record. They were the only team to beat Class A champion Sioux Falls Christian and Class B winner Northwestern.

Sophomore Bergen Reilly totaled 12 kills, four aces, 1 1/2 blocks and 10 digs.

Senior Raegen Reilly recorded nine kills, dished out 24 set assists, netted a service ace and came up with 11 digs.

Isabella Steffel contributed seven points, Elaina Lubeck and Grace Benford both 6 1/2 and Brogan Beck six. Brynn Askew had 16 digs and Emma McKay 11.

For the Tigers (18-5), Brooke Schiltz had 11 kills, two aces and 10 digs.

Tenley Buddenhagen finished with eight kills, four aces, a block assist, 34 set assists and 10 digs.

Brynn Gose had nine kills and a block assist, while Emily Dale logged eight kills and a solo block and Libby Rounds chipped in with seven kills and a block.

Bryn Huber came up with 23 digs.

Notes: It marked O’Gorman’s seventh title in 11 finals appearances. They Lady Knights also won in 1987, 1988, 1989, 2002 (winter), 2013 and 2014 and were second in 1986, 1990, 1996 and 2019. … Huron was runner-up for the second time (1991), winning in 1998 and 1999.

Third place

 No. 4 Sioux Falls Washington 3, No. 7 Sioux Falls Roosevelt 2

The Warriors (17-6) pulled out a 25-10, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10 victory.

Ellie Walker led the charge with 20 kills, two aces, a block assist and nine digs.

Sydni Schetnan added 17 kills and a block assist. Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda chipped in with 10 kills and five blocks (three solo). Joslyn Richardson recorded 10 kills, three aces, a block assist and 16 digs.

Katy Richardson logged 50 set assists, 22 digs, two blocks and an ace. Jadyn Schetnan had 24 digs.

For the Rough Riders (11-12), Maggie Paulsen tallied seven kills, 2 1/2 blocks (one solo) and an ace.

Fifth place

 No. 2 Watertown 3, No. 5 Aberdeen Central 0

The defending-champion Arrows (23-5) won 25-22, 25-23.

Maggie Heesch totaled 16 kills and three blocks (one solo). Jadyn Hoftiezer added 14 kills, an ace, a block and 13 digs. Emerson Smith chipped in with 12 kills and 1 1/2 blocks.

Olivia Corey (30) and Karli Hanten (16) combined for 46 set assists. Corey and Abby Bramer both came up with 16 digs and Anna Johnson added 15.

For the Golden Eagles (18-10), Brooklyn Kusler ended up with 13 kills, a block assist and 15 digs. Grace Myhre guided the offense with 35 set assists. Hannah Keil had 15 digs.

Seventh place

• No. 6 Brandon Valley 3, No. 8 Harrisburg 2

The Lynx (19-9) topped their suburb rival 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Kazi Ellingson had 10 kills, five blocks (one solo) and an ace. Taylor Stemen added 13 kills, two blocks and 17 digs. Morgan Hunt contributed nine kills and 5 1/2 blocks (one solo).

Liz Kopp dished out 45 set assists and came up with 10 digs. Abby Finch notched 23 digs.

For the Tigers (14-14), Abby Meister recorded 20 kills, two aces and 24 digs. Merdedes Covrig had 50 set assists and 11 digs. Devanie Andre logged 25 digs.

Friday

Semifinals

 O’Gorman 3, Sioux Falls Washington 0

The Lady Knights won 25-21, 25-22, 25-22.

Bergen Reilly had 13 kills, 2 1/2 blocks and 12 digs. Brogan Beck recorded eight kills and three blocks. Raegen Reilly totaled 28 set assists, 14 digs, five kills, an ace and a block assist.

The Warriors got 15 kills from Sydni Schetnan.

 Huron 3, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 0

The Tigers tallied a 25-14, 25-20, 26-24 victory.

Brooke Schiltz led the way with 12 kills and a solo block. Tenley Buddenhagen had 30 set assists, six aces, three kills, 1 1/2 block assists and nine digs.

The Rough Riders’ Abby Ward finished with seven kills and a solo block.

Consolation semifinals

 Watertown 3, Brandon Valley 2

The Arrows edged the Lynx by the set scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-16, 22-25 and 15-11.

Maggie Heesch racked up 20 kills, 2 1/2 blocks (one solo) and a pair of aces.

BV’s Brooklyn Grage had 20 kills, a block assist and 10 digs.

 Aberdeen Central 3, Harrisburg 0

Brooklyn Kusler totaled 11 kills, two aces, 1 1/2 blocks and 11 digs to lead the Golden Eagles to a 25-23, 25-23, 25-14 triumph. The Tigers’ Abby Meister had seven kills, two aces, a block assist and 10 digs.
