SIOUX FALLS – Two Bobcats and two Cossacks earned South Dakota High School Baseball Association All-State honors.
Pitcher/outfielder Jacob Devine and third baseman Akren Prodoehl were honored for Brookings in Class A.
The Bobcats finished the season with a 19-10 record, including a 3-0 loss to Watertown in the Region 4A championship on Wednesday. Brookings had won the past two state tournaments.
Sioux Valley infielder/pitcher Cole Gross and first baseman Zack Puetz were selected in Class B.
The Cossacks posted an 11-3 record. They fell 11-0 (six innings) to Dell Rapids in the Region 2B South Division title game on Tuesday. The Quarriers later earned a state tourney bid.
Sioux Falls Roosevelt (Class A) and St. Thomas More (Class B) led the way with three selections apiece.
Both state tournaments are at Sioux Falls Stadium, as the Class A title is decided on Saturday and the Class B event is Monday.
