CLEAR LAKE – Sioux Valley beat host Deuel 46-15 and Hamlin 45-21 but fell 49-22 to Clark/Willow Lake in a wrestling quadrangular Thursday.

The Cossacks return to action at the Kingsbury County Quadrangular on Friday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m. in Arlington.

The Cossacks won five of the seven contested matches, including four by fall.

Brayden Squires pinned Reed VanWormer in 21 seconds at 132 pounds. Russell Sheets (145) stuck Dylan Hagberg in 4:56. Dawson Doyscher (170) put Keegan Johnson on his back in 22 seconds. Seth Heidenreich (182) pinned Miles Wyman in 30 seconds.

Joe Hornick added a 17-5 major decision over Isaac VanWormer in the 160-pound bout.

Skylar Trygstad (113), Wyatt Hockett (138) and Lev Nedelco (195) won via forfeit.

• Sioux Valley 45, Hamlin 21

The Cossacks won four of the six contested matches, including three by fall.

Dylan Strouth (106) pinned John Yonker in 1:14 at 106. Squires (132) toppled Kaden St. Pierre in 1:33 and Heidenreich (182) stuck Sam Grantham in 5:08.

Sheets (145) posted a 10-3 decision over Logan Eng.

Tyson Moe (120), Hockett (138), Hornick (160) and Doyscher (170) were victors via forfeit.

The Cyclones won five of the eight contested matches.

For the Cossacks, Sheets (152) pinned Braeden Johnson in 34 seconds and Doyscher (182) dropped Dakota Lilly in 1:14.

Moe (120) earned a 13-1 major decision over Elliot Bratland. Hornick (160) won via forfeit.
