BOULDER CREEK, Nev. - Led by an eighth-place finish from Piper Stubbs, the South Dakota State women’s golf team placed sixth at the Spring Jackrabbit Invitational Tuesday.
The Jacks totaled 899 (+35) on their final scorecard and tied for sixth with Eastern Kentucky.
Stubbs went 2-under in the final round, bringing her finally tally to 217 (72-75-70, +1). She recorded three birdies and an eagle on the last lap, her second eagle of the weekend. This is her third consecutive top-10 finish.
Shakira-Ann Kuys had the next best finish for SDSU. The sophomore tied for 32nd place with a 226 (+10) score. Alex Kandolin and McKenzie Mages posted matching 230 (+14) scorecards to tie for 44th place. Tatum Depuydt rounded out the lineup in a tie for 52nd place (231, +14).\
Grand Canyon won the team title with an even-par 864. Western Carolina’s Elizabeth Lohbauer and Grand Canyon’s Constanza Guerrero shared medalist honors at 6-under.
