PHOENIX - South Dakota State’s Ty Kretz led the Jackrabbit men’s golf team for the second consecutive outing as the sophomore placed 24th at the GCU Invitational on Tuesday.
Kretz turned in a 1-over final scorecard after three rounds. He tallied even-par 71s on rounds one and two, followed by a 72 (+1) on Tuesday, bringing his tally to 214.
Matthew Schaefer ended up in a tie for 41st overall (218, +5). Jonah Dohrer was next in a tie for 54th (221, +8), followed by Noah Boraas in 85th (231, +18) and Blake Schaper in a tie for 86th place (232, +19).
The Jackrabbit team finished in 14th place out of 16 teams. No. 29 TCU won the team trophy at 17-under, a slim margin over North Dakota State and Grand Canyon’s matching 16-under final tallies. NDSU’s Nate Adams earned medalist honors at 13-under.
