Bryce Loomis, 76, of Bruce,  passed away, Jan. 12, 2019, at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living, Brookings.  

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Bruce.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan, 17, 2019, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Estelline.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Bruce.  Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

 Bryce Loomis was born on July 21, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Kenneth and Luella (Hanson) Loomis.

Bryce received his education in rural School in Preston Township No. 111, and was a graduate of the Estelline High School in 1960.  He was united in marriage to Georgean “Jeanie” Skyberg on Feb. 27, 1965, in DeSmet.  Bryce farmed near Bruce most of his adult life.  Jeanie passed away on December 12, 2007.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Coughenour on Jan. 1, 2011.  Barb passed away Aug. 13, 2013.

 He was a member of the Grace Free Lutheran Church in Bruce and was an active member of the Bruce American Legion Post No. 200.  He enjoyed serving on many different boards for various organizations.  

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and spending winters in Arizona.

 Bryce is survived by his children, Robb (Jennifer) Loomis of Brookings, Barry (Lisa) Loomis of Bruce and Vicki (Cory) Murra of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Zach Loomis, Tanner Loomis, Collin Murra, Brady Murra and Sophie Loomis; and two sisters, Ilene (Thomas) Lund of Seneca, S.C. and Kay (Erik) Dahl of Brookings.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeanie; his brother, Keith and his second wife, Barb.
