BROOKINGS – The Bombers Maroon split a pair of games Saturday, beating Canton 12-0 in five innings before falling 6-4 to Harrisburg Maroon, to conclude the Cubby’s Sports Bar & Grill Classic.
Brookings went 2-2 in the 13U division in the event.
The Bombers Maroon (13-3) play a twinbill at Sioux Falls East on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Addison Ronning tossed four innings of one-hit ball and issued just one walk.
David Brink threw a 1-2-3 fifth to seal the deal.
The Bombers Maroon broke open a 2-0 game with 10 runs in the fourth.
Breck Hirrschoff had two hits and a pair of RBIs.
Austin Clark singled and drove in two runs. Owen Schneider (one RBI) and Griffen Bartels added two hits apiece. Ronning and Will Bauer both added a hit and an RBI.
Hirrschoff threw a no-hitter during Brookings’ 10-0, four-inning defeat of Canton on Friday.

The Tigers scored six runs in the fourth inning and then held off the Bombers Maroon.
Ronning (one RBI) and Nolan Miles both tallied a pair of hits.
Bauer doubled and Bartels singled, as both players drove in a run.
Jack Merritt, Hirrschoff and Schneider had the team’s other hits.
Merritt took the loss after giving up six runs on three hits and seven walks with one strikeout in 3 2/3 innings. Schneider retired all four batters he faced. in relief.
