The South Dakota High School Baseball Association All-Region teams were announced on Saturday.
Three Brookings seniors – third baseman Akren Prodoehl, pitcher/outfielder Chris Lerdal and pitcher/outfielder Jacob Devine, along with sophomore catcher/infielder Cody Niklason – were named to the 2017 Class A SDHSBA All-Region team.
Eight area players were named to the 2017 Class B SDHSBA All-Region squad, with three seniors from Sioux Valley, three from seniors from Oldham-Ramona/Rutland, and a junior and a sophomore from Chester/Colman-Egan/Flandreau.
Named for the Cossacks were first baseman Zack Puetz, shortstop/pitcher Nick Strasburg and infielder/pitcher Cole Gross. Pitcher Jeridan Jordahl, shortstop Riston Wolf and first baseman Jacob Hojer made the honor squad for the Raiders, while junior infielder/pitcher Michael Witte and sophomore infielder Nate Kneebone were named from CCEF.
