BUSHNELL The 34-year-old Hendricks, Minnesota, man killed in a two-vehicle crash on Monday north of Bushnell was identified on Friday by authorities as Taylor Neil Johnson.
The head-on collision at 478thAvenue and 209thStreet a mile north of Bushnell involved Johnsons 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 1985 Freightliner driven by Randall Dean Willmott, 67, of White, according to information from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
Johnson died at the scene. Willmott suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information indicates the Johnson was driving southbound on 478thAvenue in the northbound lane when his vehicle collided with Willmotts oncoming, northbound vehicle. Johnson wasnt wearing a seat belt, while Willmott had his on.
The crash was reported at 4:51 p.m. and continues to be investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
