High school track: Deubrook teams compete in Jesse James Invite

GARRETSON — The Deubrook Area girls finished fifth in the Jesse James Invitational here Friday. The Deubrook boys, meanwhile, were 10th.

Duebrook’s girls scored 77.5 points, thanks in part to four second-place efforts.

Kaylee Brown was runner-up in the 1,600-meter run in 6:05.53, Emma Knutson in the 3,200 in 13:37.13 and Kiana Schmit in the shot put with a throw of 31-8.75. The 4×800 relay of Brown, Knutson, Emma Mitchell and Nora Olsen finished second with a time of 10:37.25.

Olsen was third in the 800 at 2:30.83, Brown fifth in 2:47.06 and Everly Blum seventh in 3:01.70.

Chloe Haines tied for fourth in the high jump (4-6), while the 4×400 relay was fourth in 4:44.29 and the sprint medley fourth with 5:05.62.

Kiana Schmit placed fifth in the discus (104-11) and Lidia Lopez sixth in the triple jump (31-8.75), while the 4×200 relay was seventh (2:00.24).

Charlie Olsen of Deubrook Area won the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:58.74. Olsen was also fourth in the 800 at 2:10.05, while teammate Luke Jorenby placed fifth and Gage Landman eighth.

The Deubrook boys were 10th with 44 points.

The sprint medley relay of Jon Donbroski, Phoenix Poulin, Josh Moberg and Josh Mitchell was runner-up with a time of 3:56.21.

Isaiah Skogen placed fourth in the 3,200 (11:57.60). The Deubrook 4×200 relay was seventh and the 4×400 eighth.
