Bandits game postponed

HARRISBURG The Brookings Bandits and Harrisburg Gold Tigers played one inning of postseason baseball on Wednesday night before game one of a three-game series was postponed due to weather.

Harrisburg leads 5-1 with one out in the bottom of the first inning and the rest of the game will be played on Thursday starting at 12 p.m.

The Bandits jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Tre Christopherson led off the game with a single and Cooper Schneider followed with a walk. Talon Hyde was walked to load the bases with one out and then Christopherson scored on a wild pitch.

K Kokenge was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the first. N Boschee then walked and Kokenge scored on a B Esser single to tie the game. T Munce was hit by a pitch with one out to load the bases and then Esser and Boschee scored on a single from M Oakland to make it 3-1. Oakland and Munce then each scored on an error to push the lead to 5-1 and thats when the game was postponed.

Game two of the three-game series will follow game one on Thursday. The winner of the series will head to the State Tournament in Watertown next week.
