Bobcats come in sixth at Bill Scholten Invite

BROOKINGS The Brookings girls golf team came in sixth place in the Bill Scholten Invite at the Brookings Country Club on Thursday.

The Bobcats had a team score of 372. Aberdeen Central won the team title with a score of 317. Mitchell came in second (326) and Sioux Falls Lincoln finished in third (344). OGorman came in fourth (351) and Yankton came in fifth (365).

Miyah Foerster led the Bobcats and she came in 12th place with a score of 84. Kamryn Streich came in 30th (95) and Madeline Enderson finished in 33rd (96). Tafney Lunn, Josie Bertand and Oakley VanMaanen finished in 38th (97), 39th (98) and 40th (99), respectively. Carmen Bertrand came in 45th (101) and Lauren Bortnem rounded things out for the Bobcats, coming in 62nd (116).

Aberdeen Centrals Olivia Braun won the individual tournament with a one-under 71. Mitchells Anna Eliason came in second (77) and Aberdeen Centrals Emma Dohrer finished in third (78). Pierres Hadley Hart came in fourth (78) and Aberdeen Centrals Kyley Wirebaugh rounded out the top five (79).

Brookings will play in the Eastern South Dakota Conference Tournament on Tuesday in Brandon. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
