Annual womens business luncheon set for May in Spearfish

SPEARFISH On May 14, the Spearfish Holiday Inn will come alive with inspiration, innovation, and the spirit of entrepreneurship as women from across South Dakota gather for the 14th Annual Celebrating Women in Business Luncheon & Awards.

Hosted by Black Hills State University, this annual event honors the resilience, creativity, and leadership of women who are shaping the future of business in their communities.

This years luncheon will recognize outstanding women in a variety of categories, including the Enterprising Young Entrepreneur, Enterprising Woman Entrepreneur, Enterprising Woman Intrapreneur, and the BHSU Alumna Entrepreneur Excellence Award.

These awards celebrate women who have overcome challenges, taken bold risks, and demonstrated remarkable determination in their fields.

The day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with the business showcase, where attendees can enjoy coffee, conversation, and a chance to connect with local business vendors and entrepreneurs. The formal program begins at 9:30 a.m., featuring keynote speakers Julie Wingen of Pain & Movement Solutions (2024 South Dakota Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year), Michelle May of G.A.T.E. Consulting, and Hallie Hovdenes of Jitter Joint.

These women will share their journeys of growth, leadership, and transformation.

Following a networking break, the award presentations will take center stage, celebrating the achievements of this years honorees. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed by the final round of awards and door prize drawings to close out the event.

Early bird tickets are available for $49 through April 29. Regular admission is $59, with student tickets offered at a discounted rate of $25. Groups can reserve a table for eight for $320. Join us as we celebrate the entrepreneurial journey and honor the remarkable women who continue to make a lasting impact across the state.
