Eight members of the South Dakota State swimming and diving teams four women and four men were honored Tuesday on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams.
Representing the Jackrabbit women’s team were:
- Jenna Currier, Jr., Denison, Iowa 3.96 GPA in mathematics/data science;
- Katie Pattee, Sr., Farmington, Minnesota 4.0 GPA in mechanical engineering;
- Emma Schultz, Grad., Decorah, Iowa 3.74 GPA in political science/pre-law;
- Kaylee Tringali, Sr., Sussex, Wisconsin 3.80 GPA in psychology.
Currier and Schultz were repeat selections while Pattee also earned her second academic all-district award after previously being honored during the 2022-23 season.
The men’s honorees included the following from SDSU:
- Jon Galles, Jr., Gretna, Nebraska 3.75 GPA in aviation;
- Kolden Kringen, So., Williston, North Dakota 4.0 GPA in psychology/pre-law;
- Braxton McGrath, Jr., Amana, Iowa 3.81 GPA in mechanical engineering;
- Luke Nichols, Sr., North Liberty, Iowa 3.90 GPA in civil engineering.
Galles, McGrath and Nichols were all recognized for the second season in a row.
To be nominated Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and carry at least a 3.50 grade-point average. The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team will be announced later this month.
