BOX ELDER After losing their second game of the season the week before last, the Brookings Bobcats bounced back with a 48-7 victory over Douglas on Friday night and improved to 6-2.
Will Conrad had an interception and returned it for a touchdown to get the scoring going for the Bobcats.
Gavin Anderson had three touchdown passes on the night. The first one was 11 yards. Then he connected with Bergan Tetzlaff for a 26-yard touchdown. He then found Tetzlaff again for a 12-yard touchdown.
The Bobcats had 319 total yards of offense and the Patriots had just 95. Brookings had 188 yards through the air and 131 rushing yards.
Blake Kannegieter led the Bobcat defense with 5.5 tackles, five tackles for a loss and one sack. Tetzlaff had four tackles and 1.5 TFLs.
Brookings will close out the regular season on Thursday at Huron. Kickoff between the Bobcats and Tigers is set for 7 p.m. Right now Brookings sits in fourth place in Class 11B.
