David Norby of the Brookings Optimist Club presented a check the Rick Heib for the Brookings High School Bowling Team. Last year, 40 students participated which is the biggest group ever.
The Brookings Optimist Club will be holding the 30th Annual Trout Extravaganza on May 18-19 at the Indian Hills Pond. The club will also put on flags on Memorial Day for its Avenue of Flags.
The club meets every Tuesday at noon at the Pizza Ranch, 1815 Sixth St.
