BROOKINGS COUNTY A business burglary on Monday involving the theft of money is being investigated by the Brookings County Sheriffs Office.
The incident, which occurred at a business between Brookings and Volga near U.S. Highway 14 and 466th Avenue, occurred between 5 and 5:30 a.m. and was reported at 1:05 p.m., Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring wrote in a Tuesday news release.
Multiple suspects entered the business by forcing a door open, he wrote, adding that once inside the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the cash register and multiple video lottery machines. The machines sustained damage estimated at $400.
