The Brookings Birding Club will meet May 8 at 7 p.m. in the Larson Nature Center at Dakota Nature Park. The presenter will be Ross Kindermann, who will show some hand-colored prints from his collection.
These are actual prints from the 1700s through the late 1800s when the only way to “mass produce” a colored picture was to print an engraving and hand color it. Ross’s personal collection of such prints was accumulated over more than 40 years.
