BROOKINGS — The Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that Laura Schwarz has been named the 2023 Young Professional of the Year. This award recognizes exceptional young professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to their field and community.

Schwarz has distinguished herself through her exceptional work in her role as HR director of Falcon Plastics. In addition to her professional achievements, Laura is also an active member of the community and volunteers her time as a classroom teacher for Junior Achievement, as a BHS apprenticeship mentor, a member of the Brookings Area HR Association, and has served on several Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce committees.

“Laura’s dedication to both her career and community is truly inspiring,” said Kelsey Doom, Brookings Area Chamber president. “She is a great example of a young professional who is not only achieving great success in her career, but also giving back to the Brookings community. We are honored to present her with this well-deserved award.”

The Chamber expressed congratulations to the other nominees.
