Clifford Rindels - Brookings

Clifford LeRoy Rindels was born May 23, 1931, on a farm near Castlewood, SD, to Henry and Anna (Ruesink) Rindels.  He passed away on Jan. 4, 2024, at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls, SD.  
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.  Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Clifford attended Hamlin Country School and graduated as valedictorian from Castlewood High School in 1949.  He married Beth Schnackenberg on Oct. 6, 1951, in Watertown, SD.  Clifford and Beth lived in St. Paul, MN, Gaylord, MN, Madison, SD, and Colman, SD, before moving to Brookings, SD, in 1988. Clifford worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years as a letter carrier and postmaster.  He also drove school and church buses in Brookings for several years.
Clifford’s faith in God was an important part of his life.  His favorite hobby was working with stained glass.  He enjoyed giving his creations to anyone who would enjoy them.
Clifford is survived by his three children: Vickie (Craig) Wilbur, Sioux Falls, SD, Ryan (Roxy) Rindels, Brookings, SD, and Kevin (Peggy) Rindels, Hendricks, MN; his seven grandchildren: Ben (Jessica) Wilbur, Harrisburg, SD, Emily (Adam) Sampley, Sioux Falls, SD, Erik (Erica) Rindels, Elkton, SD, Sarah (Jeff) Pitts, Brookings, SD, Samuel (Madeline) Wilbur, Minneapolis, MN, Kyle (Rochelle) Rindels, Dell Rapids, SD, Jennifer (Jordan Spence) Rindels, Brookings, SD; his 11 great-grandchildren; his 2 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Erwin (Ardys) Rindels; his sister, Phyllis (Duane) Selchert; and his brother-in-law, Bob Schnackenberg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bethel “Beth” Rindels; by his parents, and his sister, Donna Andrascko.
