BROOKINGS — A man from Sioux Falls is facing multiple charges following a Friday night incident during a concert at the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings.
Taylor L. Ahlquist, 30, was initially arrested for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, according to a Monday news release from the Brookings Police Department. Lt. Joe Fishbaugher wrote that Ahlquist was “acting in a threatening manner and not (being) cooperative with instructions.”
Things escalated after that, per the news release. “Once in custody, Ahlquist escalated his behavior and kicked the transport cage in the patrol car, spit at officers and also struck an officer while at the (Brookings County Detention Center),” Fishbaugher wrote.
Ahlquist is facing a total of five charges, according to a probable cause statement from the Brookings County State’s Attorney’s Office. They are:
According to the detention center, Ahlquist was released Saturday on a $2,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in Brookings on May 6.
