BROOKINGS – The Brookings newcomer program, Beyond Connections, will host a Welcome Social for new residents and community members from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at The Pheasant Restaurant & Lounge. The goal of the event is for new residents to network with others in the community.

“Whether you moved here three months ago or three years ago, we want to welcome you to the Brookings community,” said Stacy Aesoph, Brookings Economic Development Corporation director of workforce development and event organizer. “The social event is a great way for new residents to make connections, which is vital to retaining our workforce.”

The social event will include a special wine tasting and appetizers. Attendees may also purchase other beverages. The event is for adults ages 21 and older.

This the fourth Welcome Social the program has hosted within the last three years, with attendance numbers ranging from 30 to 50 people. Another social is being planned for the fall.

The event is free of charge. Those interested in attending the Welcome Social should RSVP to stacy@brookingsedc.com by April 24.
