The VFW Auxiliary No. 2118 recently visited each of the local school librarians as well as parochial school administrators. Each of the visitations was for the purpose of donating books to their libraries.

Each school received a book(s) that were geared for their student age group. The National VFW Auxiliary furnishes guidelines for appropriate reading at each age level.

The program is Patriotism Through Literacy. This program encourages each local auxiliary to donate books to their school libraries to promote patriotism and love of country. Jan Olson, chairperson for the Youth Program at our local VFW Auxiliary, selects books for each age group.

This important program provides new and informative stories of events and heroes in our country.
