BROOKINGS – A vehicle was keyed and charges are pending for the person who did it, according to Brookings Police.
The incident was reported at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday and occurred in the 100 block of 12th Avenue South, Lt. Marci Gebers said.
“Through the course of the investigation, the officer was able to identify a possible suspect and he was able to make contact with that suspect who then admitted to keying the vehicle,” Gebers said.
“The victim did know the suspect,” she added.
The damage was limited to the paint on the vehicle.
“There is extensive damage to the victim’s vehicle. An estimate is not available at this time. It would be safe to say it’s well over $1,000 worth of damage,” Gebers said.
