BROOKINGS – Animal traps and tools were stolen recently in two separate incidents, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
The tools were reported stolen from a rural Elkton shop at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. The theft occurred at 20946 486th Ave., north of Elkton, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said.
“The items stolen from the shop … are a set of 18v and 20v DeWalt tools with a bag, batteries and chargers,” Sebring said. “The value is estimated at $2,000.”
They were stolen between May 22-23.
The traps were reported stolen at 3:30 p.m. May 20 from 21645 471st Ave., south of Brookings, Sebring said.
“Items stolen were three animal traps and a shepherd’s hook,” Sebring said. “The value was estimated at $30.”
The items were stolen sometime between May 19-20, he added.
