Third Sunday Breakfasts to return

Posted

BROOKINGS – The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary is planning to again serve the public its Third Sunday Breakfast. With the concerns everyone has about the COVID virus, the service to nonprofit organizations will look a little different.

Plans are to again start serving breakfasts in October. To follow CDC guidelines, changes to how the serving and seating for breakfast goers are slightly different.

When you come for breakfast, there will be signs and greeters to help you with the new routine. All of the new procedures are in place to keep you, and those working to provide the breakfast, safe.

All of the people serving and preparing the breakfast will be wearing masks. Your wearing a mask is not mandatory, but wearing a mask until your breakfast is delivered shows concern for those around you. We are asking that each individual provides health safety for themselves and those around them.

The cost of breakfast this year will increase slightly. The menu remains the same.

You will still have your choice of two entrees, or you can get both if you have a hearty appetite.

Time changes are also in effect. Breakfasts will be served from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Take-out breakfasts are also available. The auxiliary will release more information as time draws closer to the scheduled Oct. 18 Third Sunday Breakfast being held for the Sleep in Heavenly Peace organization.
