Storage unit burgled in Volga

More than $16,000 worth of goods stolen

VOGLA – Motors and engine parts were among the items stolen from a storage unit, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.

The theft was reported at 1:53 p.m. Sunday and occurred in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 14 in Volga, Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring said. The theft occurred sometime between 9 p.m. April 11 and 1 p.m. May 2.

“It appears the lock was forcibly removed from the unit and over $16,000 worth of property was stolen,” Sebring said.

The following large items were stolen from the storage unit: 

• Evanrude 30hp motor

• Evinrude Stainless propeller

• Min Kota 60 trolling motor

• Lowrance 7 fish finder

• Min Kota onboard battery charger 

• Danny Gray Short Hop seat

• Screamin Eagle motorcycle engine parts 

• Suzuki Hayabusa transmission

• Remote control airplane parts 

This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
